What unites us is stronger than what divides us.
No matter where I stepped off the plane — one thing was always the same: people loved their children.
That was their common ground, stronger than religion, skin color, origin, or language.
All of that is irrelevant to me. I don’t see what divides us — I see how someone acts.
And yes, sometimes that gaze unsettles me, because it feels like a judgment, larger than myself.
But maybe that’s all we really have: not judging people for what they are, but for what they do.
